Nuggets….

Many of you know that Adam and I were in an accident on Sunday.

<Rewind to Sunday Afternoon>

We went to Charlotte to see a friend and her daughter be confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Adam was driving and was goofing off a little bit pretending like he was sleeping – he claims to see how long it would take me to notice…

He is an awesome hubby and wants to make sure that I am always on my toes…

<Fast forward an hour and a few>

We are leaving sacrament meeting and are on our way home. We are talking and having a great time. All of the sudden, we start to veer a little off the road.

Thinking that this is another “on your toes” activity, I start to giggle a little bit to myself.

<A few seconds later>

We are still veering and it is getting a little more scararific. In fact, we are now headed smack dab into the awesome striped road sign about a foot off of the road.

Suddenly, I get my smarts back and get Adam’s attention. By saying really loudly “ADAM!!!”

He comes to and swerves out of the way.

I start to breathe more easily…but all too soon.

SMACK!!!! The rear view mirror hits the sign…

CRACK!!!!! The rear view mirror flies off of its mount…

SMASH!!!! The window shatters and comes flying at me.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I scream twice really, really loud.

Adam puts on the brakes and pulls over to the side of the road.

He gets out of the car and comes to my side. I am sure that I look like this:

Sexy aren’t I?

He helps me out of the car and makes sure that I am ok. (Awesome hubby.)

Another girl who saw the accident comes running up and asks us if we are ok. We assure her that we are fine, then she points out that I am bleeding.

I’m pretty sure I was in some sort of shock, because I didn’t freak out like I usually do when I see blood.

We again assure her that we are fine and she decides that she can believe us and she leaves.

<Fast forward through us standing there shocked a little longer, Adam cleaning up some of the glass that is all over our seats, Us getting back in the car, Adam being upset with himself because he feels like he put my life in danger and feels horrible and also because we now have a new thing that is going to cost us some moolah, Both of us being thankful that it wasn’t worse and more>

Finally I convince Adam that we are good because we are both alive and it didn’t total our car. Hooray!

We start to be really thankful for the fact that Heavenly Father was really looking out for us. It could have been so much worse. AND when the rear view mirror came through the window it didn’t smack in the noggin like it probably should have. Neither one of us were severely hurt and my “bleeding” was less than almost all of the shaving accidents that I’ve had in my life. So all in all, we were good.

Now…comes the confession:

What caused us to veer toward the sign? Adam looked down while the road was curving…and we didn’t automatically curve with it. Huh? Since when did FORD not come with autopilot? =)

What caused him to look down? A nugget.

A chicken nugget, you ask…

Nope.

A golden nugget?

Negative, good buddy.

So what kind of nugget was it?

A BOOGER! That’s right folks, you read that right. A booger that needed a final resting place (aka a napkin) to dwell. Not just any booger, a “gigantic booger”. Nice…

Damage: $431.00

Story: Priceless.

Blogging about it: Legendary.

This is probably the least expensive “mining” accident ever. Adam and I are glad to have our place in history. =)

Well Junk..

I guess Fry really is a good mix of us both. =)

Making Scones in the outside kitchen that my dad made for my mom while they were remodeling. =) What a great trip!!!
Now, tag! Whoever wants to post the 6th pic from your 6th pic file.

My Job….

I LOVE IT!!!  I like the people I work with. I like what I do. I like my hours. I like working with more people and getting to know more people. I like getting around the office and working in a team. I love my new job. It is so much fun.

Just thought you should know.

I FINALLY got a job!

And I start on Monday!!!  Hooray!!!!

It is with Corning – WAY excited to start. A little nervous because I haven’t been in a large business atmosphere for four years – since Fujitsu…

Also I am not a morning person…but I better start being one. At my last job, I didn’t have to be there until 9:30 and then 10:00am. So….8:00am comes really REALLY early after that. =) Yes, I know I am lazy….but I won’t be for long! Hooray!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers and support!

My Amazing….

Dog… Bet ya didn’t see that coming, did ya?

I have an amazing hubby too…but more on that later.

Since I don’t have a human child…Fry is the closest that I get to a baby. Seriously, I love my dog and I treat him like a baby – which ticks Adam off, but like I said…Fry is the closest that I have to a baby. Plus, Adam gets ticked when I say “Wash your hannies” or the like to him. =)

Confession: Course I can’t say that I blame him. When I was in high school, I once broke up with a dude who talked to me like a baby. Now I feel like Jerry Seinfeld in the episode where he breaks up with women for the weirdest things: Smelling like soup and man-hands.

So the purpose of my rant? I am going to start writing about his accomplishments and such. Dumb I know…but it is my blog so what are you going to do about it?

The first funny thing about my puppy is that he totally plays hide and seek with us. Not that it is fair play since he is always the one who is seeking and never hiding. This is how the game goes…

First we scare him so that he gets riled up and runs out of the room. While he is out, we occupy one of our favorite hiding spots:

In the Guest Bathroom (usually behind the door, but not always if the light is turned off ):

Behind our bedroom door…pardon my leaning tower of beauty crap. =)

In our closet. Messy….yeah…a little.

Behind our bathroom door. Ha…didn’t notice my towel was looking all crapified. But look how cute Fry is peaking around the corner…I think he wants to play.

And on the floor on Adam’s side of the bed. Fry hasn’t quite mastered finding us in this spot since it is new…

And he will eventually find us….

That, my friends and bloggers, makes Fry one amazing dog!

Cienna and Majel’s Plans

I called Cienna and Majel a while back and Cienna told me that she was saving all her money so she could come to North Carolina and visit Uncle Adam and me. Then I heard Majel in the background yell, “ME TOO!”

Then there was a pause…

Then Cienna says: “Nevermind, Majel doesn’t want to come see you, she wants to go to Texas to see Leland.”

Me: Cienna, are you still coming to see me or did your plans change too?

Cienna: Yeah, I’m still coming, I want to see Fry fry…

Ok…I guess I know where I stand. Somewhere behind Texas and all who live there, and my dog.

Memory of Maddy…

So I was talking on the phone with Maddy when she needed to talk to Uncle Adam. So I put him on. They start talking about swim lessons and Adam tells her that he took swim lessons when he was little. I guess Maddy was feeling a little left out about telling what happened in the past and decided to tell him her plans for the future:

“When I grow up, I want to be a mom and drive a car.”

CUTE!!! Whatever Maddy wants to do, I am sure she will accomplish it. She is very ambitious. =)

I’m really behind….

Sorry. I have tried to catch up, but that leaves me more behind than before…so I will have to just start from this point on and see what I can do for the back posts later. =)

On Tuesday, I got a call back from Adecco and was offered the Corning job (Administrative Assistant) pending a background check and drug test. I went in to Adecco at 1pm and left there after doing tons of paper work and watching a really boring orientation movie at 3:15pm. I had to hurry over to the office where they would do the drug test. It turned out to be a hair drug test and me thinking that they would need a strand or four at most didn’t think much about it.

Until….they took about 50-100 strands out of the middle of my head. So if I have an alfalfa…that is why. =)

Anyway, considering I’ve never done drugs and have a clean background, I am hoping to have a start date soon. =)

More posts coming… (My sisters are amazing…they have families and still manage to post on a regular basis.)

Memory Tag

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you.

If you know Adam, go ahead and leave a memory of him too!!!
