Goodbye my LOVE!

First….name that movie. HAHAHAHAHAH.

Today was the day that my man left for home. He had to leave so that he could get back to work. More important since I had quit my job before we left for California. I was kind of sad when he left. =(

In the morning, we went out to run some errands with Momba. After the errands we ran to TOGOs – one of my fast food chains that I’m sad that don’t have in the South.

The whole time we were out, Adam and my Mom made all sorts of fun of me cause I was sad Adam was leaving. They were afraid that the waterworks would come and they would be left swimming I guess. =)

Yes I was sad that my guy was leaving, but I knew I would see him again soon. =)

After that, Momba took me to Cranberry Mercantile. We had a GREAT time! We looked around at all the great crafts they have there. As we went to the back to the back of the store we saw a painting station. We decided that that would be cool to do so we each chose a ceramic item to paint. I chose a cute little snail bank and Mom chose a cute piggy.

Mom finished before I did so she went out and did the make and take. (They have free classes where you can make the item and take it for free. This time it was two different cute cards.)

When I finally finished mine, mom and I split a card making class. It was so much fun! We spent about five hours there. =) Great times!!!

Here is a picture of my snail bank before it was fired…it will look shinier than this when it is done. =)

Staying LONGER!!!! HOORAY!!!

We decided today that I would be able to stay longer in California than Adam. He was such an AWESOME-Tastic Hubby and said that he would do the Sharing Time in church if I would get the plan to him. =) What a great man!!!!

So he called United to see if he could get me on a later flight. While he was on the phone with the guy, this is pretty much what happened:

Guy: “Ok sir, you would like to change one passenger to fly home on the 14th instead of the 8th?”

Adam: “Yes”

Guy: While clicking madly and audibly on the keyboard. “Ok, I can get you on a flight that goes through Vegas is that ok?”

Adam: “Yes”

Guy: More mad audible typing. “Ok, and this flight leaves at ___ time, is that ok?”

Adam: “Yes”

Guy: “Ok and you know that you only have to pay the difference in the tickets from what you have already paid?”

Adam: “Uh-huh”

Guy: Typing away with his fast little fingers “Ok sir that will be $1,295″

Adam: Trying not to choke “Ok, you do realize that this is just for one passenger, right? I don’t want to be paying for the full flight.”

Guy: “Yes, this is only one passenger. Would you like to make that change?”

Adam: Trying not to laugh… “NO! I don’t want to pay $1,295.00 plus the $150.00 change fee. We will figure out another way.”

Guy: “Yes sir, thank you for calling United”

Hang up.

(This story is even more special when you see Adam tell it.)

So, we got online and found a one way flight with one stop to NC for only $250.00.

Savings of $1,195.00 – Even without coupons! =)

Thanks to Momba, Papa-San and Adam for letting me stay longer!!!

Great America!!!

On Monday, Adam and I got to take Momba’s car and go to Great America. We were worried that it would be packed because it is summer, but it was WONDERFUL!!! We walked onto almost everything. We went on all of the big roller coasters (not sure these are what they are called anymore):

Top Gun – Adam and I rode this one twice. It was way fun.

King Cobra – We rode this one once.

Demon – We rode this ride ride twice by ourselves. There wasn’t a line so we got to just stay on. It was awesome – but it hurt my neck a little bit. When Momba and Papa-San met us, we rode it once more. It was fun. =)

Grizzly – We only rode this ride once because this really jiggles you around. OUCH!

Vortex – Only once.

Psycho Mouse – This is like Mulhollands Madness at Disney California. WAY FUN! Love this ride.

Drop Zone – This one we rode about 80 times..ok exaggeration but we went on it over and over again and it was awesome! Probably about 15-20 times just Adam and I and then when Mom and Dad met us at the park later, we went on it twice more! Woot woot! Only problem was that Momba didn’t come with us. =(

Invertigo – Adam and I rode this about 5 times too! It was a blast. One of my very favorite rides. Too bad it was shut down when Dad and Mom came. =(

Some other ones that we went on were:

Fire Ball – Way DUMB. Only two good parts on it… one of the more fun drops and me singing. Course if you don’t go on it with me, you won’t get that thrill. Course we rode it once with mom and dad and once alone.

Survivor Ride – We went on this a couple times with just Adam and I. Adam was ticked because we couldn’t get to the top at any of the ends when we rode it by ourselves. Mom and Dad seemed to be our good luck charms because when they came on the ride WITH us we made it to the top – TWICE!!

Rip Roaring Rapids – Adam and I rode this twice to cool down. It was a really REALLY hot day. It was fun!!!

Viking Ship – This we rode with Pops and Momba. It was fun..but we only did it once.

Bumper Cars – This was AWESOME!!!! These we rode with Mom and Pop at the end of the night and we rode them a few times. The ride rules are dumb because there are not supposed to be any head on collisions and you are only supposed to drive one way. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BUMP PEOPLE GOOD THAT WAY? So I would turn my car around and go the opposite direction so I could bump the others awesome-tacularly. The girl ride operator was ticked at me but the others thought I was kind of funny so I got away with it. (Mom, Dad and Adam were doing it too). We rode on this a few times since there wasn’t a long line and we could get right back on. The highlight of the night. WAY FUN!

After riding those, I had a bruise on my neck for the next couple of days…probably from all those head on collisions. =)

The buckets that get you across the park – You know…the ones that get you from one part of the park to another…the ones my sisters and I used to sing happy trails on. =) Confessions of the bucket ride. We rode those a couple of times when we were too lazy to walk. =)

We did leave the park at lunch time and headed to Taco Bell – the lunch of champions. =) Oh my goodness was the soda and the food yummy!!!!

When pops and mom met us, we went to eat at this one place that was supposed to be pretty good. Um…but it wasn’t. The food was disgusting and more expensive that anyone thought it could be. Plus there weren’t free refills – course that didn’t stop momba. She walked right up to the person and said something like: “That was the worst dinner I have ever had and I’m going to take a free drink to make up for it.” The guy said “ok”.

But seriously, what else could he say. She was going to get one no matter what.

After we rode the bumper cars for the last time, we headed out of the park for home. All in all a most fantastic day!!!!

Unfortunately no pics – remember my camera was still under the seat in Lett’s car…bummer!!!!

Sunday Visit with Lett…

On Sunday we went to church. Cienna, Maj, and Ethan met us at the church and hung out with us for awhile afterwards. It was so hot that the kids and Gram swam while Dad and Adam played tanks.

I visited Lett and was a little irresponsible because I stayed longer than I thought I would and left my phone in the car so I missed a bunch of calls from Mom, Dad and Adam and made them worry. Sorry guys!

It was a great visit with Lett. It was good to catch up a bit with a friend that I haven’t seen in a long time. I took my camera, but didn’t get any pictures. Bummer! I accidentally left my camera in her car. I knew where it was, and asked Lett to take a look for it.

Something that you need to know about me…I misplace things ALL the time. I would leave my head, shoulders, knees and toes places if they weren’t attached to me.

Something you should know about Lett is that she is extremely well organized and clean. In Lett’s world, there is a place for everything and everything goes in its place. So, she thought I was crazy when I swore I left it there.

Funny, but she found it exactly where I told her it would be. =) But only when I finally got her to look after a few days….hahaha.

Em and Her Kids Leave =(

Em and her kids left today around noon…but before they left we had scones lovingly made by Momba and the nieces. It was so much fun to watch.

The scones were AWESOME!!! Seriously so good. Props to the girls. While the girls made the scones, Effy was swimming. Here is a cute pic of him.

We also played MarioKart on the Wii….

Yes, that is me hiding behind a pillow…doesn’t hide me very well does it? NOPE!

Here are some great pics of Em’s kids before they went home. P and H don’t seem to mind, but I think M might be a little ticked…

We were sad to see them leave too, but they had a party they had to get to for the 4th. We knew there was still more fun to be had as well!! =)

Swimming!!!!

The next day we went swimming…it was a wonderfully beautiful day and HOT. It was a blast…mostly because Uncle Adam got in and that made it possible for me to hang out/layout and talk with Momba and Em while watching them have a blast in the pool. Rock on!!!

Adam threw them all. Ethan got some serious air. Porter showed us his starfish. All the girls got thrown too, but for some reason I only got some pics of Haven. Adam got a pretty good work out from it too. =)

Then they had a “diving” contest. Here are some of the best jumps:

Maddy’s AWESOME Dive

Adam’s Cheerleading Jump (making fun of me since I was a cheerleader in Jr High)

Porter doing the “Hi-ya” jump:

Adam being a choo choo train with all the nieces and nephews that were there…so much fun

An all around awesome day!!!!

CALIFORNIA HERE I (WE) COME!!!

The title of this post totally cracks me up because it reminds me of the crazy lady at the QP gas station that sang that song to me while we were looking for houses…AWESOME!

We left our house at 6:15pm or so on June 29th and arrived at my parents house in California at 2:00am on July 1st. It was quite a trip. =) Thanks Momba for picking us up so late/early! We appreciate it so much!!!! When we got there we went straight to bed.

In the morning, Haven woke up and got into bed with us. Maddy woke up shortly thereafter and stared at me with a little worried look at her face. Then she calmed down a little when she saw that her sister and I were chatting and decided that it would be ok to join us. About fifteen minutes of talking and giggling and waking up Uncle Adam, Maddy looked at me and said…”Aunt Annie???” Yup! She finally remembered me. Such a cute little booger.

Porter and Haven recognized me right away. YEAH!!!!!

When we finally woke up Uncle Adam completely, we got out of bed and got ready for the day. We decided that it was a little chilly to go swimming and decided that we would go to the zoo instead. We were joined by Quynh, Cienna, Majel and Ethan.

The zoo was AWESOME! I haven’t been to a zoo in so long and I didn’t realize what I was missing. So much fun and even more fun with the Family. =) Here are some pics from the day:

All the kiddos. Such a cute group!

Other wildlife at the safari exhibit:

This is already on Em’s blog, but this is Maddy. She was holding my hand and clicking madly on the toy camera. Then told me in her cute little voice “I’m going to put these on my blog.” You go girl!!

Effy decided to hang out for a while. Such a handsome little guy.

Walking up the trail to see the Gorillas.

The Gorilla ticked at me after being loud at his house. There was even a sign that told me to be quiet and I didn’t see it. Ahhh…JERK. I’m sorry Gorlilla!

Tarzan King of the Jungle (Porter) and his side kick (Effy). He was so glad to have another boy around. =) I totally love the look on Nenna’s face too. Such a cutie!

A taste of my acrobatic abilities….or lack thereof. So glad that the tiger’s ears didn’t fall off or become loose. =)

Some cute girls and me! Just missing Nenna.

Porter looking handsome and studious after he stole Uncle Adam’s glasses:

We came, we saw, we ate, we napped (this was after Adam ran around with them. So fun to watch):

What happened before the nap:

The Train:

And the best zoo train video ever!!!

Not that the train was scary…but it was hilarious to hear them scream. =) Or are they trying to do the most annoying sound in the world a la Dumb and Dumber…the world may never know… HA!

And some more pics of the human wildlife at the zoo: Aren’t they some of the cutest kids you have ever seen? I love these little guys!

We played at the playground and then went to the children’s zoo. They had a bunch of booths set out so we all could see the animals and learn more about them. It was interesting and fun. Luckily the kids all agreed to go home before we went into the petting zoo… I’ve always had bad luck there. Why? They have goats.

The goats heads are – for some unknown reason – always attracted to my bum. I’ve been butted a few times by the goats. My bum was saved for now. =)
